Nepantla Lotería

$55.00

12 x 18” screen print titled “Nepantla Lotería,” inspired by an original linocut. This piece pays tribute to the influential lesbian Tejana writer Gloria Anzaldúa, author of the groundbreaking book “Borderlands: The New Mestiza.” The artwork incorporates several of Anzaldúa’s most renowned concepts, such as the Coatlicue State, the Mitote, and La Raja. At the center of the composition is a portrait of Gloria herself—the maestra at the heart of this work. Gloria Anzaldúa has been, and continues to be, a profound influence on my work.  Printed on French paper.
